Rhu Mhor Guest House

Fort William

Rhu Mhor Guest House is a friendly family-run Guest House offering comfortable accommodation conveniently located near the centre of Fort William, chief town of Lochaber in the West Central Highlands of Scotland. Built in 1925, the house, which has been in my family since 1972, is situated within a steep acre of wild, tree-shrouded garden.  It overlooks Loch Linnhe and the hills of Loch Eil, and just ten minutes' walk from the town centre, railway station and bus stances. We are set amidst some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain, with Ben Nevis, our highest mountain, just around the corner.

As a traditional guest-house, mentioned in the well-known Rough Guide to Scotland , we pride ourselves on our home cooking, and by arrangement will be happy to provide for special diets. We have seven bedrooms upstairs, four en-suite, the remainder sharing a bathroom and a shower-room. All bedrooms have hot and cold water, tea and coffee-making facilities, and heaters. Tea and biscuits are served in the lounges, for no extra charge, at 10pm. There are two lounges, one with and one without a television. We have no televisions in the bedrooms. All bedrooms and public rooms are non-smoking.

To maintain the peace and atmosphere that is Rhu Mhor, and for the security of the house, we ask that all guests are in by 12 midnight, when the front door is locked.

Rhu Mhor is situated between Alma Road and Victoria Road. Pedestrians enter from Victoria Road while cars and taxis use the Alma Road entrance.
